Azure Tenant Blocked Due to Inactivity – AADSTS5000225

Hello,

I am unable to sign in to my Azure account and I am getting the following error:

Error code: interaction_required

Error message: AADSTS5000225 – This tenant has been blocked due to inactivity.

I am completely locked out of my account and cannot access the Azure Portal to submit a support ticket. I have tried signing out and signing back in, but the error persists.

I have the Trace ID and Correlation ID available and can share them privately with a Microsoft engineer if needed.

My questions:

  1. Is there a way to reactivate a blocked tenant without being able to sign in?
  2. Is there an alternative support channel I can use to get this resolved?
  3. Can Microsoft support reactivate the tenant manually using the diagnostic IDs?

    Hello youssef bouchmama

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

The error message you encountered indicates that your tenant has been inactive for over 200 days past the billing cycle, triggering Microsoft’s effort to remove inactive tenants. When a tenant remains inactive for this period, the OMS commerce system imposes a login block (AADSTS5000225). Twenty days after the login block is applied, the tenant is permanently deleted.

    Tenant inaccessible due to inactivity

If you plan to unblock your inactive tenant, it’s essential that it has been blocked for less than 20 days. After the 20-day period, the tenant is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

If it has been less than 20 days since the block, please provide the requested details for further assistance via private message:- Note: If it's a test tenant, please re-create a new tenant for testing purposes.

Do let me know if you have any queries, we are happy to assist you further
