• Press Windows key + Shift + S together on the keyboard.
• The screen will dim and the Snipping Tool overlay will appear.
• Drag the cursor to capture the required area.
• The screenshot will be copied to the clipboard. Please press Ctrl+V in the editor to paste it, then confirm to attach the image.

 

Alternatively, you can press the PrtScn key on the keyboard, if it exists, to directly copy the Entire screen, which you can paste using CTRL+V.

Follow these steps in order, testing Forza Horizon 4 sign-in after each step:

1. Restart the PC

• Many Xbox services sign-in issues are caused by a Windows service being in a bad state. A full restart can clear this.

2. Update or repair Gaming Services Gaming Services is required for Xbox games like Forza Horizon 4.

• Open Windows Start, search for “PowerShell”, right-click and choose Run as administrator.
• Run:

    get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers
  

• In the same PowerShell window, run:

    start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN
  

• Microsoft Store will open on the Gaming Services page. Install it and accept any UAC prompts.
• After installation, restart the PC and try launching Forza Horizon 4 again.

3. Make sure the Xbox app is installed and up to date

• Ensure the PC is in the normal RETAIL environment (not a dev sandbox).
• Open PowerShell as administrator again and run:

    get-appxpackage Microsoft.XboxApp | remove-AppxPackage -allusers
  

• Then run:

    start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9mv0b5hzvk9z
  

• Install the Xbox app from Microsoft Store.
• Open the Xbox app, sign in with the same Microsoft account used for Forza Horizon 4, then try the game again.

4. Check general Microsoft account sign-in If sign-in fails in the game but also fails on the web or other apps, there may be an account issue.

• Use the Sign-in Helper to diagnose and fix common Microsoft account sign-in problems.
• If the password is forgotten, follow the steps in Reset your password.

If the error persists after these steps, capture the exact error code shown in Forza Horizon 4 and check for Xbox services outages on the Xbox Status page, then contact support with that code.
