Unless you've masked the file name in your screenshot that may be the cause of the problem. A file cannot be saved or printed unless it has a valid file name.

Additionally, if the issue involves only the one document it's unlikely that the program or the OS are at fault. Reinstalling is a waste of time if the problem is document-specific. There really isn't enough information in the message about the document & it's content to enable a specific cure.

    Hi Mohd.

Thank you for contacting to Microsoft Community.

We have notified that many users are experiencing same error. You can try those temporary steps below to complete your task.

    1. Convert out of Compatibility Mode Open the document Go to File → Save As Change File Format to: Word Document (.docx) Save it with a new name Close Word completely Reopen the new .docx file Try: File → Save As → PDF or File → Print → Save as PDF
    2. Using the World online by the link below: https://word.cloud.microsoft/
    3. Reset the macOS printing system: Apple menu --> System Preferences --> Printers & Scanners --> hold the Ctrl key and clicking on the white space dropped “Reset printing system”

    Hi, Mohd Hosni Mahmood

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Sorry for this unwanted experience that you're encountering. This usually isn’t a “bad Word install”, it’s Word getting stuck because macOS’s printing system (which Word uses to print and also to create PDFs) glitches after an OS update like Tahoe 26.3.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

Reset the printing system: Apple menu > System Settings > Printers & Scanners > Control-click in the printer list (or empty space) > Reset printing system, then restart your Mac and try Word again. This often brings back the Print window and fixes “could not be saved as PDF”.

Quick workaround: open the file in Word for the web (browser) and export/print to PDF from there. This bypasses the Mac printing pipeline while you’re troubleshooting.

Try one Safe Mode boot (then reboot normally): some people get a one-time privacy prompt that lets Word use an online converter for PDF, and after enabling it, PDF export starts working again.

If “Save As > PDF” fails, try File > Print > PDF (bottom-left) > Save as PDF. Sometimes that path works even when Export fails.

Hope this helps. Feel free to get back if you need further assistance.
