Hi,

I have received office 365 through my university and was also charged for office 365 personal. I was not aware of the direct billing as I'm sure I didn't turn this feature on for in the past I've had to manually make payment to Microsoft rather than direct debit payments.

Can I please get a refund for the recent payment taken from my account. 19 February 2026 | Order number fc7a509e-6ec1-4531-880a-dc22884ec538 Microsoft 365 Personal AU$159.00, Subscription as I didn't agree to a direct debit payment. Thank you.

Hello, good day and thanks for your question. As you have an existing subscription, you will need to cancel it first and then you can go to https://account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365/billing and try it from there or try to turn off the recurring billing at https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2277073 and you can also follow the guided steps indicated from the link below.

You can also request a call back by going to https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2168171 in case you are having trouble cancelling and getting a refund.
