Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

If your laptop came with a “1-year free Microsoft 365 Basic subscription”, which includes 100 GB of OneDrive cloud storage and 100 GB of Outlook email storage, you can redeem it by going to:

Microsoft Store > Library > Included with device.

If you see an option to claim the offer there, click “Claim” to redeem it to your Microsoft account.

If you don’t see the option, check inside the laptop box for a card or leaflet that contains the redemption instructions. If there is no card and you still can’t find the offer, you’ll need to contact the retailer or laptop manufacturer for further assistance.

    Hi, jyoti dalal

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum.

The “free 100 GB for 1 year” is usually a promo that has to be redeemed on the new laptop with the right Microsoft account, and it may not show up if the offer was never claimed, or if the device only came with a short trial instead.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

Sign into Windows and OneDrive with the same Microsoft account you want the storage on, then unlink OneDrive and sign in again (OneDrive app > Settings > Account > Unlink this PC). This often forces the storage entitlement to refresh on the device.

Check the laptop box or paperwork for a promo card/pamphlet or redemption instructions, and try redeeming from the official setup flow. Many “bundled” offers don’t activate until you redeem them.

Open OneDrive on the laptop and complete the setup prompts, some manufacturers note the offer appears during first-time OneDrive setup when the device is eligible.

If your account shows only 5 GB, give it a bit of time and recheck, some users report the upgrade can lag behind for a day or two.

If it still never appears, confirm your purchase invoice/product listing, some “preinstalled” Microsoft apps are only trials unless the bundle explicitly includes the 1-year plan, then contact the laptop maker or retailer with your serial number.

Hope this helps. Feel free to get back if you need further assistance.
