Exams are not certifications. You do not renew exams, only certs.

Do you have the certification? The MS-102 exam is only part of the requirements for the Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert certification. You must also hold one of the prerequisite active associate certifications. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/credentials/certifications/m365-administrator-expert/#certification-prerequisites

To renew MS-102, the certification must be visible and active in the Microsoft Learn profile. If the passed exam or certification is not listed under Certifications, use these steps:

    1. Confirm the certification is eligible for renewal
      • Role-based and specialty certifications expire after one year and can be renewed only by passing the free online renewal assessment on Microsoft Learn.
      • Renewal is available starting six months before the certification’s expiration date; the Renew button appears only in that window.
      • Renewal does not apply to fundamentals certifications, but MS-102 is part of an associate/expert path, so it should be renewable if active.
    2. Check the correct Learn profile and account
      • Sign in to Microsoft Learn and open the profile.
      • Go to the Certifications section and look for MS-102 or the related certification.
      • If it is missing, verify that the correct login account is being used:
        • If multiple Microsoft accounts (personal, work, or school) exist, sign out and try each one.
        • Use the email that received the original exam “congratulations” message and follow its profile link to confirm which profile holds the certification.
    3. Verify that the certification still exists and has not retired or expired
      • Some older or legacy certifications are no longer shown in Learn profiles once they age out.
      • If the certification has already expired, it cannot be renewed; the exams must be passed again to re-earn it.
    4. If the certification should exist but is still missing
      • Follow the “Missing Exams or Certifications” guidance and contact Microsoft Credentials Support for account-level investigation and correction.
      • Provide details such as exam name (MS-102), date passed, and any confirmation emails when opening the support request.

Once MS-102 (or the associated certification) appears correctly under Certifications, the blue Renew button will be visible during the six-month renewal window, and the renewal assessment can be taken to extend the certification for one year.
