- Using a mobile hotspot Using a mobile hotspot is allowed as long as the connection is stable and meets the OnVUE system and network requirements. Before exam day, run the required system test from the same location and using the same setup (laptop + hotspot) to confirm compatibility with the OnVUE software.
- Sitting at a table and chair Online exams require a compliant, “clean” testing environment. The desk and surrounding area must be clear of prohibited items, and the proctor must be able to see the workspace via webcam. A standard setup is a table/desk and chair; any setup used must still meet the clean-room and camera visibility requirements described for online exams.
- Taking the exam from a different location An online proctored exam can be taken from any location that meets the technical and environment requirements. If the exam is scheduled as an online exam, it does not have to be taken from the same physical location used at scheduling, but the new location must pass the system test and meet the exam area scan and clean-room rules.
- Using the laptop’s built-in camera A built-in laptop webcam can be used if it meets the proctoring requirements (clear video, ability to scan the room, etc.). During check-in, the webcam will be used to perform the required 360° exam-area scan within the allotted time.
Before registering or sitting the exam, review:
- Online exam requirements and system test steps.
- Clean-room and exam area scan requirements.
- ID and profile name requirements.
