MS found violation of Terms of Service and Abuse? Outlook account email closing?

Suddenly my Outlook.com account that I had for some time for email got closed by Microsoft due to violating terms of service due to abuse. I only use this email account for email and nothing else. Everyone in our email thread all received the same email from Microsoft. We have been trying to figure out what we did, or wrote, in our emails that caused this to occur. Our emails were encrypted the entire time. This is why we are very puzzled.

After hearing about the Microsoft using AI to scan everything seeking the perfectly described word for their AI implementation, "Micro$l0p" (make sure AI did not recognize that word), Microsoft is closing our email accounts.

Why is Microsoft using AI enforcement in private encrypted emails?

At least we decided to all move our email accounts over to Yahoo to avoid Microsoft's invasive AI scanning for keywords that makes these babies cry. This is absurd Microsoft is now controlling our private encrypted email discussions.

This makes Linux and MacOS good alternatives to use, including any non-Microsoft email services.

    Hi mark k,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum.

I’m really sorry you are dealing with this situation. I understand how frustrating it can be to suddenly lose access to an Outlook.com account, especially when it’s unclear what triggered the enforcement.

In cases where Microsoft closes or suspends an account for violations of the Microsoft Services Agreement related to abuse, the action is handled by the Microsoft Digital Safety enforcement system. Please note that this is a user‑to‑user support forum. Moderators and contributors, including external Microsoft employees, don’t have the ability to access back‑end systems, review flagged content, or intervene in enforcement decisions. Our role is limited to providing general guidance only.

At this point, the only official way to proceed is to submit an appeal using the Microsoft Account Appeal form:

    https://www.microsoft.com/digitalsafety/appeal

When submitting your appeal, please make sure to:

    • Use a different, active email address
    • Provide clear, factual information

I understand this may not be the answer you were hoping for. However, if you have any updates after submitting the appeal, please let me know.

Thank you for your time and understanding

Did I strike a nerve on my questions as I received a horrible response on the phone support and chat.
