Fine, i'll make it public. Github Copilot in VS is a scam. Serving Sonnet 3.5 and saying it is 4.5 Sonnet.

I have 4 more as to how we got there. I asked what model it was. It said 3.5 and I was like what? then it argued with me and told me nothing more advanced exists (this makes sense logically bc it wouldn't know). Claude is up to 4.6 on their site and MS VS Github Copilot is supposed to be 4.5 but is apparently 3.5. That is not ok. I went through credits and extra credits last month using what i thought was advanced ai models and that was not the case. 3x instad of .33x and 1x is a BIG deal.

I already contacted Github support. I do intend on filing complaints with the government regulatory agencies if this is not corrected because this is misrepresentation, fraud and theft at the end of it. It's unethical and wrong. And that is not something that should have beeen missed even though there's going to be a plethora of excuses.

how many of us have you done this to????
Claude Sonnet 4.6 isn't perfect but it has been the best tool yet for helping me. I got out of VS and isntead copy/paste and edit code myself bc of the problems that my paid GitHub Copilot caused in my code. It explains A LOT finding this out today.

This is either Github programming being messed up or Microsoft implementing the wrong thing in the VS. IDK how it runs programmatically but its not cool.
