I purchased Win Pro Mar Apr 2025 2 copies and installed on new Windows 11 Laptop & Desktop. Last week PC Desktop Dell EBT2250 had and update and on restart. system crashed and failed auto repairs. Hardware scans check good but not able to boot. System is now working after a system reset but not with window 11 Pro. The Home version does not work with my configuration. Need help getting Win Pro back. And Clean check my account. The new computers do not show in my account.

    Hello

Did you purchase the license from third party, or from Microsoft directly?

To restore Windows 11 Pro on the desktop and ensure the license is recognized, use Activation settings to switch editions with the existing Pro license or the Microsoft Store, and make sure the device is correctly associated with the Microsoft account.

    1. Confirm current edition and activation state
    2. On the affected Dell desktop, open Start > Settings > System > Activation.
    3. Check:
      • The edition currently installed (likely Windows 11 Home after reset).
      • The activation status (Activated / Not activated / Error code).

If an activation error is shown (for example 0xC004F213 – no product key found, or 0xC004F211 – hardware changed), use the built‑in troubleshooter as described below.

    1. Reapply the Windows 11 Pro license

Use whichever of these options matches how Windows 11 Pro was originally obtained.

    A. Use the original Windows 11 Pro product key

If a retail Pro key was purchased in Mar/Apr 2025 and used on this desktop:

    1. Go to Settings > System > Activation.
    2. Select Change product key.
    3. Enter the Windows 11 Pro key that belongs to this desktop.
    4. Complete the prompts and allow the system to restart if requested.

This switches the edition from Home to Pro and activates it, provided the key is valid for Windows 11 Pro and not already in use beyond its rights.

    B. Use the activation troubleshooter with a digital license

If the desktop was previously activated with a digital license for Windows 11 Pro tied to a Microsoft account:

    1. Sign in on the desktop with the same Microsoft account that was used when Pro was first activated.
    2. Open Settings > System > Activation.
    3. Select Troubleshoot.
    4. If the troubleshooter finds a valid digital license for Windows 11 Pro for this device, it will offer to switch to that edition and activate it. Follow the on‑screen steps.

If the troubleshooter reports that no matching license is found (for example error 0xC004F213 – no product key found on the device, or 0xC004F211 – hardware changed), use the exception path:

    1. In the troubleshooter, choose the option to reactivate after a hardware change if it appears.
    2. Confirm the device from the list (using the same Microsoft account that originally held the license) and complete the reactivation.

If Windows originally came preinstalled as Home and Pro was never properly licensed for this device, a new Pro license may be required.

    1. Upgrade from Home to Pro via Microsoft Store (if no key is available)

If the reset left the PC on Windows 11 Home and there is no accessible Pro key, the upgrade can be done through the Store using the account that owns the Pro entitlement:

    1. On the desktop, open Settings > System > Activation.
    2. Under Upgrade your edition of Windows, select Go to Microsoft Store or Open Store.
    3. In the Microsoft Store app, sign in with the Microsoft account that should own the Pro license.
    4. Choose the option to upgrade to Windows 11 Pro and follow the prompts. A purchase may be required if the account does not already have a Pro entitlement.

For devices running Windows 10/11 Home, upgrading to Pro via the Store is the supported path when no separate key is available.

    1. Ensure the devices appear under the Microsoft account

For both the laptop and desktop:

    1. Sign in to Windows with the same Microsoft account used when Pro was purchased or first activated.
    2. Confirm Windows is activated (and Pro is applied) via Settings > System > Activation.
    3. After activation and sign‑in, the devices should show up under that Microsoft account’s device list; this can take some time after activation.

If, after these steps, Windows 11 Pro still is not recognized on the desktop and the troubleshooter cannot find a Pro license, contact Microsoft Support with proof of purchase for the two Pro copies so the account and license association can be reviewed and corrected.
