How to share file from the old teams to the new teams?

I have observed file sharing from old Teams to new Teams through SharePoint. I have also tried sharing files from the Class Materials folder using the right-click options (Move/Copy), where I can select the preferred Team. However, in both methods, the files are not being shared directly inside the Class Materials folder. Instead, they are shared outside the folder, and I have to manually drag them into Class Materials afterward.

My question is: Since I have already created the folder inside Class Materials, is there a way to directly move or share the files into the Class Materials folder without having to drag them manually afterward?

Files in Teams class teams are stored in the connected SharePoint site, and permissions such as “Class Materials” read-only behavior are controlled there. Moving or copying files between teams or libraries can be done, but the context only confirms folder-level read-only setup and general move/copy behavior, not a way to target a subfolder like Class Materials in another team directly from Teams.

    From the available information:

    • Files shared in Teams channels are stored in the corresponding SharePoint document library and sync automatically between Teams and SharePoint.
    • Read-only folders such as Class Materials (or custom read-only folders) are created and managed in SharePoint. Permissions are set at the folder level using Manage access and “Change to view only.”
    • Moving or copying files between OneDrive and SharePoint, or between SharePoint locations, is supported via Move to / Copy to in the web experience, but the context does not describe selecting a specific protected subfolder (like Class Materials in another team) as a direct target from within Teams.

Because of this, the only supported, documented approach in the context for getting files into a specific read-only folder is:

    1. Use Teams or SharePoint to move/copy files into the target team’s document library (even if they initially land outside Class Materials or another read-only folder).
    2. In SharePoint, open that team’s document library, then move the files into the desired folder (such as Class Materials or a custom read-only folder) using the SharePoint file management UI.

The context does not provide a method to bypass that second step and place the files directly into the Class Materials folder in another team in a single operation.
