Did you add your Gmail account in Outlook for Mac as Google, or as IMAP?
IMAP only syncs email, not calendar or contacts. To sync meetings, you must remove the account and add it again using the Google option, then sign in and allow calendar access. After that, your Gmail calendar should sync with Outlook.
Thanks Arlene, appreciate your feedback, unfortunately, yes gmail account added as google, i deleted and reinstalled whilst talking to an Apple support consultant to no success, she then advised to contact Microsoft which steered to this platform as their AI was not able to offer a solution.
