I accidentally activated Azure for Students under my college tenant. Due to tenant-level restrictions I cannot use Azure ML. I want to move my student verification to my personal Microsoft account.

Azure for Students verification and benefits are tied to a single Azure for Students subscription per eligible customer and must be validated with an institutional (university/college) email address. The offer is limited to one Azure for Students subscription per eligible customer and is nontransferable and can't be combined with any other offer, unless otherwise permitted by Microsoft. The context does not describe any supported way to “move” or reassign an existing Azure for Students verification or subscription from one Microsoft account/tenant to another.

From the available information, only these supported options exist:

    1. Azure for Students is bound to the account and institution email used at signup
      • Eligibility requires affirming full‑time student status and verifying academic status through the institution’s email address.
      • The offer is limited to one Azure for Students subscription per eligible customer and is nontransferable.
    2. When credit is used or 12 months pass
      • If the $100 credit is exhausted before 12 months and continued Azure use is needed, the subscription can be upgraded to a pay‑as‑you‑go subscription in the Azure portal.
      • If at the end of 12 months, the subscription can be renewed by signing up again for the offer, as long as eligibility requirements are still met.
    3. Separate “Azure for Students Starter” option
      • Azure for Students Starter is a different benefit, also limited to one subscription per eligible customer and tied to academic verification via the organization’s email address.

The context does not document any supported process to:

    • Detach an Azure for Students subscription from a college tenant and attach it to a personal tenant/account, or
    • Reuse the same academic verification on a different personal Microsoft account while the original Azure for Students subscription is active.

To change where Azure resources are created and managed, the only documented path is to use or create a different subscription/tenant (for example, a personal pay‑as‑you‑go subscription) and deploy Azure Machine Learning there, but this would not “move” the Azure for Students verification itself.
