I need to delete my old personal outlook account and unlink it from my new personal work email account. When I log in using my new personal work account, and try to send an email, it sends from my old personal account, which I haven't access to. I need only my personal work account to be active.

I've found and removed the outlook alias option, but Outlook still shows the outlook[long series of letters and numbers]@outlook.com email address on Outlook Web. How long does this take to resolve?

The outlook_<letters and numbers sequence>@outlook.com mail will exist if you are using a third-party e-mail as your primary sign-in for your Microsoft account. You can't get rid of it without getting rid of the account itself.

    Hello,

Removing the alias does not delete the old Microsoft account. If the long outlook address still shows in Outlook Web, the account is still active or set as the default sender.

Alias updates can take up to 24 hours to reflect, but the primary alias remains the default until you change it under Your info. If you no longer want the old account, you must sign in to that old account and close it from Account settings, then wait for the 30 day closure period. Also check Outlook Web Settings, Mail, Sync email, and confirm your new address is set as the default From address.
