I DO NOT have:

  • password
  • The email address
  • a recovery email / phone number

    Hi Kazuha Kaedehara,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

If you don't have the password, don't know the email address, and don't have a recovery email or phone number set up, the only remaining option is to go through official Microsoft account recovery.

Since Minecraft now uses Microsoft accounts (even on iPad), your gamertag is tied to a Microsoft account. Being logged into Minecraft helps, but it does not allow password or email recovery directly from the app.

    Here's what you can do:

    1. Check if Minecraft shows part of the email On iPad (in Minecraft):

    • Tap Settings > Profile > Account

Sometimes it shows a partially hidden email. If you can see even part of it, that helps a lot. If you're unsure of the exact email, try all addresses you or your family might have used (e.g., old Gmail, Yahoo, school email, parent's account).

    2. Use the Microsoft Account Recovery Form

    You'll need:

    • The email address (try any possible ones if unsure)
    • A contact email where Microsoft can reply

Provide as much detail as possible:

    • Exact gamertag spelling
    • Country/city where the account was created
    • Approximate creation date
    • Any purchases
    • App Store purchase receipt for Minecraft (if available)

The more accurate details you provide, the better your chances.

    3. If the recovery form does not resolve the issue, contact Minecraft Support

    Submit a request at: https://help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

Choose: Account Support > Help with Microsoft account

    Explain clearly that:

    • You are logged into Minecraft on iPad
    • You know the gamertag
    • You no longer have access to the email or password
    • No recovery methods were set up

(Note: Minecraft support may also guide you back to Microsoft account recovery, as the account is managed by Microsoft.)

Important: Microsoft requires proof of ownership (such as purchase receipts or transaction IDs) to restore access. If you cannot provide this or identify the email address, account recovery may not be possible due to security policies. There is no instant or in-app fix. Official recovery is the only available path.

Please let me know if this proves useful to you, or if you would like further assistance.

To find the unknown Microsoft email address used with the Minecraft/Xbox account, follow these steps:

    1. Check if any existing email is a Microsoft account
      • Go to https://account.microsoft.com and enter each email address that might have been used.
      • If the page shows a password prompt, that email is a Microsoft account.
      • If it says "We couldn't find an account with that username" or "That Microsoft account doesn't exist," that address is not a Microsoft account. In that case, verify spelling and domain (for example, .com vs .co.uk).
    2. Look for receipts or messages from Microsoft
      • Open every email account in use and search for messages or receipts from Microsoft (for example, game purchases, subscriptions, Xbox, or Minecraft emails).
      • The address that received those messages is likely the Microsoft account username.
    3. Use Xbox/Minecraft clues
      • On an Xbox console already signed in with the gamertag, follow the steps in the “Find your Microsoft email address walkthrough” referenced in the Xbox help article to see which Microsoft email is associated.
    4. Use the Sign-in Helper tool
      • If the email is still unknown or not recognized, use the Sign-in Helper tool described in the “I can't sign in to my Microsoft account” article. It will guide through options based on what information is available.
    5. If the username is known but no longer works
      • If the email is eventually found but sign-in fails, use the “Recover your account” flow to reset the password. Ensure the domain and spelling are correct, and try any other alias or phone number if one was ever added.

If none of these steps reveal the email address and there are no aliases, phone numbers, or recovery options on the account, recovery may not be possible.

About tags/parent/child on the question form: tags are only used to indicate which product or area the question is about (for example, Microsoft account, Xbox, or Minecraft). They do not affect the account itself or recovery options.
