I am on the business standard, but I just paid my invoices and yet I received an email threatening that all my data will be lost if I don't clear the invoices

Hello Grace Linda, thank you for reaching out Q&A Forum, and I understand how concerning this situation can be, especially after you’ve already made your payments.

First of all, please do not click on any links in the email you received.

Please recheck Billing > Your products > Invoices in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center https://admin.microsoft.com/#/homepage and confirm that all invoices show a Paid status and that there is no overdue balance for a different subscription, add-on, or a previous billing period. In some cases, reminder emails can be triggered by a separate invoice, such as an add-on, a converted trial, or even a different tenant associated with the same email address. Please refer this article https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/commerce/billing-and-payments/view-your-bill-or-invoice?view=o365-worldwide#view-or-download-your-invoice

Second, if the payment was made very recently, there can be a short delay before the system fully reflects the updated status. During this time, automated reminder emails may still be sent.

Third, please carefully verify the email itself. Official Microsoft billing notifications are sent only from Microsoft-owned domains. If the message asks you to click unusual links or threatens immediate data loss, it may be a phishing email. Please do not click any links in such emails and report them as phishing in Outlook. This is a safe action and is strongly recommended by Microsoft, as it helps improve overall email security.

To report a phishing email in Outlook, select the suspicious message, then choose Report > Report Phishing (or Junk > Phishing). You may also block the sender by right‑clicking the sender’s name and selecting Block Sender. Reporting these emails will not negatively impact your account in any way; it is a built-in security feature designed to protect you and your inbox.

If everything shows as Paid in the Admin Center and the email appears to be legitimate, I recommend opening a billing support ticket directly from the Microsoft 365 Admin Center so the billing team can review your account and confirm that there is no risk to your data.

I hope this helps clarify the situation. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.
