Good morning, our Office license expired and our SharePoint disappeared, however we renewed the Office license and the site we had on SharePoint was deleted and is not in the recycle bin.

    Dear @infrasp,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

I’m really sorry to hear about this situation. From what you’ve described, your Microsoft 365 subscription expired for a period of time, and during that time the SharePoint site disappeared. Even though the subscription has now been renewed, the site is no longer visible and does not appear in the SharePoint recycle bin.

To clarify how this works, according to Microsoft 365 policies, when a subscription expires, the tenant goes through a sequential lifecycle:

    1. Expired: Services are still available for a limited time.
    2. Disabled: Users lose access, but administrators can still sign in.
    3. Deleted (Deprovisioned): The tenant’s data, including SharePoint sites, is permanently removed.

If a tenant reaches the Deleted/Deprovisioned state, renewing the subscription later does not automatically restore data, and SharePoint sites will no longer appear in the recycle bin or admin center.

In this case, I’m afraid the issue is beyond what can be resolved through self‑service tools or the community forum. Investigation and confirmation from Microsoft’s backend systems are required, as only the backend support teams have the tools to verify the tenant’s lifecycle state and determine whether any recovery options are still possible.

I strongly recommend that you raise a support ticket with Microsoft Support (Microsoft 365 / SharePoint Online – Business). When creating the ticket, explain that:

    • The subscription expired and was later renewed
    • The SharePoint site disappeared during the expiration period
    • The site is not available in the recycle bin

The support team can then check the tenant status and advise definitively whether recovery is possible.

You can raise support ticket from Microsoft 365 Admin Center>Support>Help & Support.

I’m really sorry I can’t give you a more immediate solution here, but contacting Microsoft Support is the correct and necessary next step in this scenario.

If you have any updates from support or need help navigating the support process, please feel free to reply, I’ll be glad to assist further.

Looking forward to hearing back from you with any updates or additional details.

    Warm regards,
