IF you purchased Microsoft 365 from a 3rd party retailer, you only need to use the product key once when activating Office, after that it is a digital licence associated to your Microsoft account, if you purchased Microsoft 365 directly from Microsoft, you never need a product key.

The Microsoft 365 product key is generally not shown, and for most home subscriptions it is not needed to pay, renew, install, or activate. Use the Microsoft account instead.

To manage payment or renew the subscription:

1. Go to the Microsoft account, Services & subscriptions page.
2. Sign in with the same Microsoft account used to buy or activate Microsoft 365.
3. From there, manage billing, payment methods, and renewal; no product key is required.

Key visibility details from the context:

• The full product key is not displayed inside Office apps.
• The product key is not displayed online for Microsoft 365 subscriptions; the Microsoft account replaces the key for reinstall and activation.
• If Microsoft 365 was bought from the Microsoft Store and not yet installed, the key can be viewed under Order History → select the product → Install (this shows the key but does not install).

If the goal is only to pay or renew the subscription, sign in with the correct Microsoft account and update the payment method; a product key is not required.
