Changing the email address used for a Microsoft 365 subscription depends on what exactly needs to change:

1. If the goal is to keep the same Microsoft account but use a different sign-in email (alias):
   Go to Manage how you sign in to Microsoft and add the new email address as an alias, verify it, then set it as Primary. After that, the old email can be removed if no longer needed. This is the same mechanism used for changing the sign-in email for services like Microsoft Teams Free.
2. If the goal is to change the Microsoft 365 mailbox address to use a custom domain (for example, from a generic address to @lmsciences.com):
   • Ensure ownership of the lmsciences.com domain and add it to Microsoft 365.
   • Update DNS (MX and related records) so mail for @lmsciences.com is delivered to Microsoft 365.
   • Change the user’s primary email address in Microsoft 365 to the new @lmsciences.com address.
     After this, sign in with the updated email address.
3. If there are two separate subscriptions (for example, one on @gmail.com and another on a different address) and only one should remain active:
   • Sign in to https://account.live.com with the account whose subscription should be cancelled.
   • Go to Subscriptions, choose Manage for the subscription that should be stopped, and cancel it.
     Cancelling a subscription does not delete the Microsoft account or its email address.

If the subscription is tied to Visual Studio rather than Microsoft 365, the subscription admin can update subscriber email addresses directly in the Visual Studio subscriptions admin portal by editing the subscriber and changing the email field.
