For PL-300 and all other role-based Microsoft Certifications, renewal is only possible while the certification is still active. Renewal can be done only by passing the free online renewal assessment on Microsoft Learn during the six-month window before the certification’s expiration date. Once the certification has expired, renewal is no longer available and the certification cannot be reactivated via the renewal process.
To regain PL-300 certification after expiration, the required step is to earn the certification again by passing the current PL-300 exam.
Key points based on current policy:
- Renewal method
- The only way to renew is the free online renewal assessment on Microsoft Learn.
- This assessment becomes available six months before the certification’s expiration date and must be passed before the certification expires.
- After expiration
- If a certification expires, it cannot be renewed.
- The only option is to re-earn the certification by passing the required exam(s) again.
- No exceptions or alternate paths
- Renewal cannot be done via beta exams, retaking the main exam before expiration, or special requests after expiration.
For future certifications, sign in to the Microsoft Learn profile and use the Certifications section to monitor expiration dates and see the blue Renew button when renewal becomes available.
