The error indicates that the subscription currently does not have permission or capacity to provision Azure Database for MySQL – Flexible Server in the UK South region.
Use the following steps:
- Confirm regional availability and constraints
- Azure Database for MySQL – Flexible Server is region-based and may be restricted or out of capacity for specific subscriptions in some regions.
- Errors like
Provisioning in the requested region isn't supported.orProvisioning is restricted in this region. Choose a different region.mean the region is either restricted for the subscription or currently out of capacity.
- Check for regional restrictions on the subscription
- The message
Your subscription might not have access to create a server in the selected regionaligns with the documented “Regional constraints” and “Enable region” scenarios. - In these cases, provisioning is blocked at the subscription/region level and cannot be fixed from the MySQL resource alone.

- Open a support request to enable or unblock the region
- File a support request in the Azure portal with issue type Service and subscription limits (or equivalent) and specify:
- Service: Azure Database for MySQL – Flexible Server
- Region: UK South
- Error code:
ProvisionNotSupportedForRegion
- Ask for region access or confirmation whether UK South capacity is restricted for the subscription.
- Requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis; approval is not guaranteed.
- File a support request in the Azure portal with issue type Service and subscription limits (or equivalent) and specify:
- Consider an alternate region (workaround)
- If UK South cannot be enabled or is out of capacity, deploy the MySQL flexible server in another supported region that is available to the subscription (for example, another nearby region listed as available for Azure Database for MySQL – Flexible Server).
If, after region enablement, the same error persists, open a Region access request specifically under Azure Database for MySQL – Flexible Server and include the vCore requirements as described in the provisioning-issues guidance.
