I updated my credit card information for extra storage but OneDrive doesn't recognize that I did and I can't access my files.

    Hi,

If you recently purchased additional space, please note that it may take 24 to 48 hours to update across all services. If you still don’t see the change after that time, try signing out and back in.

After that time frame, check if your storage space has been updated by visiting: https://outlook.live.com/

Go to Settings > Accounts > Storage

Expand both the Microsoft Storage and Cloud Storage sections

If the storage is not updated, I suggest contacting Microsoft Support directly so they can check it for you:

    Click this link: https://support.microsoft.com/contactus/

Sign in to your Microsoft account.

Select Microsoft 365 > Click 'Get home support'.

Type "Chat with an agent" from the text field and press Enter.

Click "Contact support" at the bottom.

Select the product you need help with.

Follow the prompts to connect with a live agent.

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

    1. Confirm the payment and plan
      • Go to Manage Storage on the OneDrive website: https://onedrive.live.com/?v=managestorage
      • Check that the extra storage or subscription is listed under your storage plans.
      • If needed, select Manage next to your storage plan to open the Microsoft account Services & subscriptions page and verify the subscription is active and not expired.
    2. Verify billing and payment method
      • On the Services & subscriptions page, in the OneDrive section, select Change how you pay and confirm the updated credit card is shown and valid.
      • If billing info needs correction, use Payment & billing > Billing info or Payment options to update it.
    3. Allow time for storage to update
      • Storage changes can take up to 24 hours to be reflected after updating payment or purchasing storage. If the subscription or extra storage shows as active but the quota has not changed, wait up to 24 hours.
    4. Refresh and recheck storage
      • After waiting, refresh the Manage storage page and confirm the new quota is visible.
      • If using the Outlook mobile app to check Microsoft storage, fully close the app, reopen it, go to Settings > Account > Storage, then tap the subscription type (Free plan or Premium) to force a refresh.
    5. If storage still does not update and files remain inaccessible
      • If more than 24–48 hours have passed and the quota still has not updated, contact Microsoft Support as directed in the articles (for example, via Account & Billing Help or Contact Microsoft Support) so an agent can check the subscription and storage on the account.

Note: If the account is over its storage quota, OneDrive files become read-only and new uploads/edits are blocked until storage is increased or content is deleted. Once the quota correctly reflects the extra storage, access to files should be restored.
