I purchased Microsoft 365 Basic in November 2025 with 5GB storage. On 3 March 2026 I purchased 100GB storage for AUD 29.99 with Renewal date of 1 March 2027 (Order No 7800770389). I checked my Microsoft account today after 24 hours and it continues to indicate I have only 0.1 GB storage. All my photos/videos have not been synced. Please advise when I can access my purchased storage?

Thankyou, Dianne

    Hello,

In fact, it can take up to 48 (not 24) hours for the changes to be reflected in your account

If you still don't see it after 48 hours, you would need to contact Microsoft billing support. To get help, open the "Get Help" app on your computer (just search for it in the Start menu). or go to https://support.microsoft.com/contactus, Type "Billing" and press Enter. On the next screen, click "Contact support" at the bottom of the page, then choose "Microsoft 365" > "Manage my subscription". You’ll then see the option to chat with a Microsoft support agent who has access to your account to help review the issue.

The additional storage should normally become available within 24 hours, but there are a few specific checks and refresh steps to perform:

    1. Confirm the storage on the Microsoft storage page
      • Go to the Microsoft storage area of the account dashboard to see the actual quota and usage for the signed-in account: Open account dashboard.
      • Verify that the total cloud storage reflects the 100 GB associated with Microsoft 365 Basic and that the correct Microsoft account is signed in.
    2. Check OneDrive “Manage storage”
      • Go to Manage storage for OneDrive: Manage storage.
      • Refresh the page and check whether the new storage plan is listed. It can take up to 24 hours for storage allowances to update after purchasing more storage or a subscription.
    3. Force a storage refresh from Outlook/OneDrive apps
      • If using Outlook mobile, force a refresh of the subscription:
        1. Close the Outlook app completely (swipe it away).
        2. Open Outlook again.
        3. Tap the profile avatar (top left) → Settings → tap the account.
        4. Under Storage, tap the subscription type (Free plan or Premium) to force a refresh.
      • If using OneDrive, sign out of the OneDrive app and sign back in with the same Microsoft account used to buy Microsoft 365 Basic.
    4. Verify the subscription type and benefits
      • Microsoft 365 Basic includes 100 GB of secure cloud storage that is shared across Outlook, OneDrive, and other services, and OneDrive 100 GB plans have been upgraded to Microsoft 365 Basic. Confirm in Services & subscriptions that the active plan is Microsoft 365 Basic and that the renewal date matches the recent purchase.
    5. If storage still shows as 0.1 GB
      • If the account is not locked and more than 24 hours have passed since purchase, and the quota still has not updated after the above refresh steps, contact Microsoft Support so they can check the subscription and apply the storage correctly. Use the support entry point here: Contact Microsoft Support and choose the Microsoft 365/OneDrive subscription category.

Until the quota is correctly updated, OneDrive will not sync new photos/videos if the service believes the account is over or near quota. Once the storage is correctly applied, OneDrive sync should resume automatically.
