    Hello @Alim, Fharzaida,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum. Based on the details you shared, I understand that you were charged by Microsoft even though you initially signed up for a free tier account. This usually happens when the recurring billing option is left turned on in the Microsoft 365 admin center. Once the trial period ends, the system automatically renews the subscription and charges the full amount, which in your case is $302.40 USD. To cancel the subscription and request a refund, please contact the Microsoft Support Billing Team directly. They can help cancel the subscription from the back end and verify whether your account meets the requirements for a refund.

Please note that as a moderator, I have limited access and cannot modify your tenant configuration or subscription status.

To create a support request to Microsoft Support, please:

    • Go to the admin center at https://admin.cloud.microsoft.
    • On the bottom right side of the page, select Help & support.
    • User's image
    • Please follow the structure below and select "Contact Support". Then, choose contact method: "Phone" or "Email"

Please feel free to let me know if you have any further concern

Microsoft Entra ID Free itself is always free and can’t be cancelled, but Azure or other paid subscriptions linked to it can generate charges if services beyond free limits are used.

    Take these steps:

    1. Verify what is actually being billed
      • Go to the Microsoft account Services & subscriptions page: https://account.microsoft.com/services
      • Sign in with the same account used when signing up.
      • Check which subscription shows the charge of 302.40 USD (for example, an Azure subscription, Microsoft 365, or other paid plan).
    2. If the charge is from Microsoft Entra ID Free
      • Microsoft Entra ID Free requires a credit card for identity verification but is not charged.
      • It cannot be cancelled because it is required to access and manage the billing account.
      • Any actual charges are coming from other subscriptions (for example, Azure pay-as-you-go) that must be cancelled separately.
    3. Cancel paid Azure subscriptions
      • In the Azure portal, cancel any active Azure subscriptions associated with the billing account. For details, see the guidance in Cancel your Azure subscription.
      • After cancelling Azure subscriptions, Microsoft Entra ID Free will remain, but no further Azure usage charges will accrue.
    4. Cancel Microsoft 365 or other Microsoft subscriptions (if present)
      • Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services and sign in with the correct account.
      • Under Services & subscriptions, find the paid subscription (for example, Microsoft 365).
      • Select Manage.
      • If Turn on recurring billing is shown instead of Manage, the subscription is already set to expire and will not renew; no further action is required.
      • Otherwise, select Cancel (or Upgrade or Cancel) and follow the on-screen steps to complete cancellation.
    5. If cancellation options are missing
      • Confirm the subscription was purchased directly from Microsoft. If it was purchased through a third party (for example, a retailer or mobile app store), contact that provider to cancel and request a refund.
      • Ensure any overdue balance is paid; if money is owed, cancellation may be blocked until payment is made.
    6. Investigate and dispute the charge
    7. Request a refund (if eligible)
    8. If the billing account itself must be closed
      • If using Azure and wanting to close the billing account that has Microsoft Entra ID Free, create a support request in the Azure portal as described in Microsoft Entra ID Free.

If online steps do not resolve the issue or the charge threatens financial hardship, contact Microsoft Support directly via the support links in the referenced articles and provide details of the unexpected 302.40 USD charge.
