The current subscription is about to expire and its in my partners name (including their XBox sub). Can I sign up a new account with me as administrator and will all the subs roll across?

A Microsoft 365 Family subscription for home use cannot be moved from one Microsoft account to another. Subscriptions do not “roll across” to a new account when a new person signs up.

To change who effectively “owns” the Family subscription:

    1. Let the current subscription expire under your partner’s account, or turn off recurring billing on that account so it does not renew. For steps, see turn off recurring billing.
    2. After it expires, purchase a new Microsoft 365 Family subscription using the Microsoft account that should be the new owner (yours).
    3. From the new owner account, share the subscription with the family members who need it using the normal Family sharing process described in share their subscription.

This process does not affect the existing Xbox subscription that is tied to your partner’s account; that remains with their Microsoft account.
