    Hi, I'm John!

This is a user-to-user forum, we don’t have access to billing systems or accounts, so we can’t process refunds directly.

The best way to get this sorted quickly is to review your Microsoft account’s billing history. Here’s what you can do:

    Check your order history:

    • Sign in to your Microsoft account at Order History https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders Adjust the date range to include the purchase date.
    • Click “Show details” under each order to see what each charge is for.

    Look for duplicate charges:

    • If you see multiple charges of the same amount that appear close together, it could explain the extra charge. Sometimes another family member using the same payment method can cause this.

    Investigate unfamiliar charges:

    • If the charge doesn’t look familiar, click “Order help” on the order details page and select “How to investigate a billing charge.” Follow the prompts to get more information and request a refund if needed.

You can also visit this Microsoft support page directly for guidance on double charges: "I've been charged twice" https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/i-ve-been-charged-twice-1370f860-c080-419a-8e77-a983389743a5

If the charge still doesn’t look familiar, it may be linked to another Microsoft subscription in your household or even a family member’s account.

Click "Add comment" to let me know.

    Regards,

    John J.D.

The duplicate charges cannot be fixed from a community or documentation channel and require secure access to the billing account.

To resolve being charged twice and request a refund for £104.99, follow these steps:

    1. Check that there really are two Microsoft 365 charges
      • Go to the Microsoft account Services & subscriptions page: https://account.microsoft.com/services and sign in with the account used for Microsoft 365.
      • Confirm there are two charges for the same period and product in the Order history.
      • If only one charge appears, there may be another Microsoft account or retailer involved (for example, another family member using the same card, or a purchase via a different store). In that case, use Manage your paymentsInvestigate on your Microsoft account dashboard to look for other accounts using the same card.
    2. Cancel any duplicate Microsoft 365 subscription
      • On https://account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365, find each Microsoft 365 subscription listed.
      • For the one that should not be active, select ManageCancel (or Upgrade or Cancel, depending on what is shown), then follow the on‑screen steps.
      • If Turn on recurring billing is shown instead of Manage, that subscription is already set to expire and will not be billed again.
    3. Request a refund for the extra charge
      • After cancelling the unwanted subscription, refund eligibility is determined automatically.
      • For Microsoft 365 subscriptions purchased from Microsoft, cancellation is required first to check refund eligibility. Not all cancellations result in a refund, but where eligible, a prorated or full refund is processed according to the Microsoft subscription refund policy.
      • If the subscription was purchased through another store (for example, Google Play or Apple App Store), contact that store’s support to request the refund instead.
    4. If the two charges are for the same order
      • If it is confirmed that the same order was charged more than once, contact Microsoft Store Support directly with the Microsoft account and order numbers so the billing team can correct the duplicate charge.
    5. If the charge is unrecognized or appears fraudulent
      • Use the Manage your payments page and select Investigate next to the payment method to review unrecognized charges.
      • If the charge is accidental or unauthorized, follow the guidance under returning items or getting a refund for unauthorized purchases.

If any step above does not match what is seen on the account pages, or if the refund does not appear after following the cancellation and investigation steps, contact Microsoft Support or Microsoft Billing Support directly so the billing team can securely review the account and process any eligible refund.
