I have tried all of the steps you suggested but none of them had any effect.

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

To help narrow down the issue:

    1. Is the PC connected by Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable?
    2. If Wi-Fi, do you see separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz network names?

Your PC may be connected to 2.4 GHz. That band is slower and often caps around 80–100 Mbps. Your iPhone may be using 5 GHz, which is much faster.

On your PC, click the Wi-Fi icon on the taskbar and check the network name. If you see a 5 GHz option, connect to that instead.

If the PC keeps connecting to 2.4 GHz, you can disable automatic connection for that network so it stays on 5 GHz:

    • Click Windows key + A to open Action Center.
    • Expand Wi-Fi by clicking ">" symbol.
    • Find 2.4 Ghz and click it.
    • Uncheck the "Connect automatically".
    • Refresh connection by clicking refresh icon in lower right corner.
    • Then connect to 5 GHz band

    Next:

    • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.
    • Then click 5 GHz band name you have, this will open Wi-Fi properties.
    • Make sure "Connect automatically when in range" is checked.
    • Restart your connection or PC and check.

If the issue persists, please provide more details by answering my questions.

On a Windows 11 PC with much slower Internet than an iPhone on the same fiber connection, focus on Wi‑Fi quality, background usage, and PC-specific software.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Improve Wi‑Fi signal and reduce interference
      • Move the PC closer to the wireless router/access point and remove physical obstructions between them.
      • Keep the PC away from devices that use 2.4 GHz (cordless phones, microwave ovens, some Bluetooth devices), which can interfere with Wi‑Fi.
      • If the router offers both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, connect the PC to the 5 GHz network for higher throughput and less interference.
    2. Test with another device and/or wired connection
      • Connect another device (laptop/phone) to the same Wi‑Fi network in the same location as the PC and run a speed test. If that device is also slow there, the issue is signal quality or router performance.
      • If possible, connect the PC via Ethernet directly to the router and test speed. If wired is fast but Wi‑Fi is slow, the problem is the PC’s wireless connection or placement.
    3. Reduce background usage on the PC
      • Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) and check the Network column.
      • End or close apps/processes that are consuming high network bandwidth (cloud backup, game launchers, large downloads, streaming apps).
      • Stop unnecessary video streaming or large downloads on other devices on the same network.
    4. Check router and cabling
      • Ensure the router and modem firmware are up to date (via the router’s admin page).
      • Inspect and reseat the cables between modem and router; replace any damaged cables.
      • If multiple devices show poor performance or the router behaves inconsistently, the router may need maintenance or replacement.
    5. Check for PC health issues
      • Run antivirus and antispyware scans; malware or spyware can monopolize bandwidth and CPU, severely slowing browsing and downloads.
      • Disable or remove unnecessary browser add‑ons in Microsoft Edge that might affect performance.
      • Close other heavy programs if memory or CPU usage is high, as this can slow the browser and network stack.
    6. Consider external and network factors
      • Performance can vary by time of day due to local Internet congestion (for example, after work/school hours).
      • Specific sites or services (including some Microsoft services) may be slow even when raw line speed is high; test multiple sites and a dedicated speed test tool to compare.

If the iPhone consistently gets close to 900 Mbps while the PC remains around 90 Mbps even when placed next to the router and after closing background apps, updating router firmware, and scanning for malware, the issue is likely with the PC’s network adapter/driver or installed network software. In that case:

    • Update the Wi‑Fi or Ethernet adapter driver from the PC or adapter manufacturer.
    • Remove or disable third‑party network management/“accelerator” software that may be throttling speeds.
