Hello Microsoft Developer Program Team,

I lost access to my Microsoft 365 E5 Developer subscription tenant and I am unable to manage or restore it.

I kindly request that you:

  1. Remove (disassociate) the old E5 Developer subscription from my Developer Program account.
  2. Allow my profile to create a new E5 sandbox tenant.

Details:

  • Microsoft Account Email (the one used for the Developer Program): <PII Removed>
  • Old Tenant Name / Domain: PII Removed
  • Issue (e.g. lost 2FA, tenant inaccessible, stuck subscription, etc.)

Thank you for your assistance.

    Hi Yaovi Amavi

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Forum! Have a good day and I hope you're doing well!

First of all, I understand how frustrating this can be especially when the tenant is still linked to your Developer Program profile and prevents you from creating a new sandbox.

Since your tenant is no longer accessible, the correct path forward is to contact Microsoft Support so they can verify your account and assist with disassociating the old tenant from your Developer Program profile.

You can consider the following workaround:

    1. Create a temporary Microsoft 365 tenant using a trial license:

    2. Go to Microsoft 365 Business Plans and Pricing and click “Try for free” to set up a temporary tenant (trial license).

    3. Use this new account to sign in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center

    4. Go to Help & Support > select Create a support request

This method allows you to create a temporary Global Administrator account so you can submit a support request on behalf of your primary (locked) Developer tenant.

In your request, clearly explain that:

    • You lost access to your Microsoft 365 E5 Developer sandbox (due to MFA, tenant lock, or global admin lockout).
    • You need the old tenant disassociated from your Developer Program account so you can create a new sandbox.

The trial account is free for one month. Please remember to delete the trial subscription after submitting your support request to avoid any unintended charges.

As a community forum moderator, I hope you understand that I don’t have access to Microsoft’s backend systems and cannot directly remove or disassociate a tenant. These actions must be handled by the official support team after proper verification. Processing time may take a few days, depending on the review and verification process. I truly appreciate your effort and persistence in resolving this issue.

I hope this helps. If you have any questions, concerns, or if I misunderstood anything, please feel free to reach out anytime.
