    Hi Rene Espinoza,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum. I'm happy to help.

The system might not be compatible with the recent Windows updates.

I suggest that you should uninstall recent updates following this article: How to uninstall a Windows Update.

If you have any updates or any difficulties along the way, please feel free to let me know.

Hi! Let me help you with this issue.

Have you tried a hard reset?

    Shut down the laptop completely

Click Start → Power → Shut down

Make sure it’s fully off (no lights, no fan)

    Unplug everything

    Remove the charger

Disconnect USB devices, mouse, keyboard, headset, HDMI, etc.

    Drain residual power

Press and hold the Power button for 20–30 seconds

    Don’t release it early

    Reconnect power

Plug only the charger back in (nothing else)

    Turn the laptop on

    Press the Power button normally

Perform these steps in order, focusing on Windows display and driver issues after the update:

    1. Confirm Windows sees more than one display
      1. Select Start > Settings > System > Display.
      2. Under Multiple displays, select Detect to see if Windows can find the missing monitors.
      3. If any additional displays appear, scroll to Rearrange your displays, select and drag them into the correct positions, then select Apply.
      4. Use Identify to confirm which physical monitor is which.
    2. Check projection mode
      1. Press Windows logo key + P.
      2. Make sure Extend is selected (not PC screen only or Second screen only).
    3. Basic hardware checks
      1. Make sure all monitor cables are firmly connected to the PC/dock and the monitors.
      2. Disconnect docks, dongles, and adapters, then reconnect only what is needed for the three monitors.
      3. Try different cables and ports (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.) for the non-working monitors.
      4. Test each external monitor on another PC to confirm they work.
    4. Update Windows and drivers (post‑update fix)
      1. Run Windows Update again to reinstall any device drivers that did not migrate correctly after the update:
        • Windows 11: Start > Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates.
        • Windows 10: Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates.
      2. If Office apps are also unstable after the update, ensure video/display drivers are current using Windows Update, then, if needed, download the latest graphics driver from the PC or GPU manufacturer.
    5. If only one external monitor works at a time
      1. Verify whether the PC, dock, or USB‑C adapter actually supports more than one external monitor. Some hardware (especially certain docks or USB‑C implementations) can only output a single display signal even if multiple ports are present.
      2. If using a splitter, be aware it usually only duplicates the same signal and cannot create two independent displays.
      3. If the device has only one video output, use a supported docking station or USB‑C adapter that explicitly supports multiple external monitors.
    6. If the issue started exactly after a major Windows update
      1. After completing the major update, run Windows Update again to pick up any missing device drivers.
      2. If the displays still will not detect, check the PC manufacturer’s support site for updated graphics, USB‑C/Thunderbolt, and dock firmware.

If, after these steps, Windows still only detects one display, the next actions are to verify multi‑monitor support with the PC/dock manufacturer and, if necessary, roll back the most recent update or open a support case with the device vendor.
