How to speak to a rep to migrate from Smartsheet into Microsoft planner?

Hello,

My team currently has access to MS Planner, but I've been unable to find a way to speak to our MS rep to discuss migration options. I'm looking for assistance as opposed to rebuilding our assets from scratch.

     Hello @Early, Shaun,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Currently, Microsoft Planner does not provide a built-in migration tool specifically for importing data directly from Smartsheet. Because of this, most teams moving from Smartsheet to Planner typically need to recreate tasks manually or use an intermediate method such as exporting data from Smartsheet (for example, to Excel or CSV) and then rebuilding the tasks in Planner.

If your goal is to avoid rebuilding everything from scratch, you might want to consider a few alternatives:

    • Using Power Automate to help recreate tasks in Planner based on exported data.
    • Reviewing third-party migration tools or integrations that support Smartsheet and Microsoft 365 services.
    • Working with a Microsoft partner who can assist with migration planning and automation.

Regarding your question about speaking with a Microsoft representative: support engineers in the Q&A forum unfortunately do not have the ability to connect customers directly with Microsoft sales or account representatives. The best option is usually to contact Microsoft support through your organization’s Microsoft 365 admin portal, or reach out to your organization’s Microsoft account manager (if your company has one).

Here is the step to raise ticket Support: In the Microsoft 365 Admin Center->Support->Help & Support. You can raise support ticket In Microsoft Admin Center by this link: https://admin.microsoft.com/#/support/requests

They can help evaluate migration options and determine whether partner-assisted migration services would be appropriate for your environment.

I hope this helps point you in the right direction.

To discuss migration options and avoid rebuilding everything manually, use one of these supported contact paths:

    1. Engage a Planner migration partner
      • Microsoft recommends working with a partner experienced in Planner migrations.
      • Use the Microsoft Planner partner locator to find a partner who can help design and execute a migration from Smartsheet into Planner: Microsoft Planner partners.
    2. Contact Microsoft for Planner migration guidance
      • For more complex Planner questions and efforts (including migration strategy), contact the Planner team at the dedicated mailbox: wwplanproj@microsoft.com.
      • Explain that the source system is Smartsheet, describe your current environment (tenant, number of projects/sheets, key requirements), and ask for recommended migration approaches and partners.
    3. Use general Microsoft support if needed
      • If there is difficulty reaching a rep through existing channels, go to the Planner help & learning page and use the Contact us option to open a support request: Planner help & learning.
      • In the support request, specify that the topic is “Planner” and that assistance is needed with migration from Smartsheet.

These channels will connect the team either directly with Microsoft specialists or with certified partners who can help plan and implement the migration instead of rebuilding assets from scratch.
