Is there a way to park a call on teams so that I can call my admin and ask if he is available to take the call?

    Hi @Rachel Richter,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum.

I completely understand how important it is for you to be able to place a caller on hold while you quickly check your admin’s availability.

Here’s how you can do that in Microsoft Teams:

    • While you’re on the call: select More actions > Call park. Teams will generate a unique pickup code for the parked call.
    • Next, contact your admin (via chat or a separate call) and share that code with them.
    • To retrieve the call: your admin can go to Calls > Unpark / Parked calls, enter the code, and select Pick up.
    • If no one retrieves the call: the call will automatically ring back to you after about 5 minutes (this timeout can be adjusted by your admin).

Reference: Park a call in Microsoft Teams.

If the Call Park option does not appear for you, your IT admin may need to enable it. You can share the setup steps below with them:

    • Call Park is disabled by default and must be turned on through a Call Park policy.
    • Users must have Enterprise Voice / Teams Phone enabled and be assigned to the same Call Park policy (park retrieval won’t work between different policies).
    • Teams must be operating in Teams‑only mode.
    • Admins can configure pickup code ranges (default 10–99, expandable to 10–9999) and the ring‑back timeout (default 300 seconds, adjustable between 120–1800 seconds).
    • Admin Center path: Teams admin center > Voice > Call park policies > Add > turn Call park On > set Pickup range and Park timeout > assign the policy to the appropriate users (e.g., receptionist and admin).

For more detail: Configure call park and retrieve.

Yes. Teams supports call park so a call can be put on hold and then picked up by someone else (such as an admin) using a code.

    Key points:

    1. Requirements
      • The feature must be enabled by a Teams administrator using a call park policy.
      • Users must be Enterprise Voice users and included in the same call park policy; otherwise retrieving parked calls fails.
      • Call park and retrieve is only available in Teams Only deployment mode and requires a Teams Phone license for the calling feature.
    2. How it works for users (desktop/mobile/Teams phone)
      • While on a call, select More actions > Call park (or Park call on some clients).
      • Teams generates a unique pickup code.
      • Share that code with the admin (for example, call or message the admin and ask if they are available to take the call, giving them the code).
      • The admin (or any user in the same policy) goes to CallsParked calls / Unpark (depending on client), enters the code, and selects Pick up.
      • If no one picks up the parked call within the configured timeout (default 300 seconds / 5 minutes), the call will ring back the parker.
    3. Admin configuration (high level)
      • In Teams admin centerVoiceCall park policies:
        • Create or edit a policy, turn Call park to On.
        • Configure pickup number range (default 10–99, can be 10–9999) and timeout (120–1800 seconds).
        • Assign the same call park policy to the users (e.g., receptionist and admin) so they can park and retrieve each other’s calls.

Once configured, this fits the scenario: park the caller, contact the admin to check availability, and the admin retrieves the call using the park code if available.
