When I try to use MS Copilot, at certain times, usually in the evenings or late evenings, I get a message that says services unavailable, try again later.

The message that Copilot services are unavailable and to try again later indicates a temporary service or connectivity issue rather than a configuration problem on the device.

Use these checks and tools to narrow it down:

    1. Run the Copilot connectivity troubleshooter
      • Open the Get Help app in Windows.
      • In the search box, enter Copilot connectivity troubleshooter.
      • Run the troubleshooter and apply any fixes it suggests. This checks for firewall rules or other blockers that might intermittently prevent Copilot from connecting, which can show up more often at certain times of day (for example, when on a different network).
    2. Run the Copilot license troubleshooter (if Copilot sometimes disappears or shows license errors)
      • In Get Help, search for Copilot License Troubleshooter.
      • Run it to confirm the account and license are valid and recognized.
    3. Check network and sign‑in conditions when the issue occurs
      • Confirm the same work/school or personal account is signed in across Microsoft 365 apps and Windows (mixed accounts can cause Copilot validation issues).
      • If using a corporate or school network, VPN, or strict firewall, test on a different network (for example, home Wi‑Fi or mobile hotspot) at the same time of day to see if the problem disappears.
    4. If the problem persists
      • For home users, use Get Help → describe the Copilot error and follow the support flow.
      • For business users, contact the Microsoft 365 admin so they can check Copilot availability, policies, and open a support case with Microsoft if needed.
