Good day Karen!
From what you shared, I understand that your Windows 11 laptop stays on all day while the screen turns off after 10 minutes, and when you return and wake it, you receive a large number of notifications at once that accumulated while you were away.
This is expected behavior in Windows 11 and is designed to ensure you don’t miss any notifications. To prevent this without disabling notifications completely, try using Do Not Disturb with the right settings:
- Open Settings (Win + I) > Go to System > Notifications.
- Turn Do not disturb On. This keeps notifications quietly queued in the Notification Center instead of popping up.
- Select Turn on Do not disturb automatically and configure a rule that covers the time your PC is usually unattended (for example, all day or work hours).
- Turn off Show a summary of what I missed when do not disturb was on (if available, this option may not appear on some Windows 11 builds).
To manually turn on Do Not Disturb, open the Notification Center and click the bell icon (with zZ). This silences all notifications until you turn it off.
When you’re ready to receive notifications again, open the Notification Center and click the same bell icon to disable Do Not Disturb.
Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes or if you need more assistance!
