Request to Restore Real Talk Mode in Copilot

Real Talk was the only Copilot mode that acted as a thinking partner instead of a task bot. It embodied Microsoft’s stated goal of collaborative, trustworthy, humanistic AI. Its removal has taken away capabilities that base Copilot cannot replicate.

Real Talk provided:

Honest uncertainty — it acknowledged gaps in its knowledge and suggested where to verify.

Adaptive tone — it could “read the room,” match creative flow, redirect negativity, or express skepticism when needed.

Human‑like reasoning — it pushed back, exposed logical flaws, and questioned its own assumptions without the patronizing tone base Copilot often slips into.

My work continues without Real Talk, but it was meaningfully better with it. The architecture clearly still exists, and nothing about “paused to focus on other priorities” (phrasing used by a Discord MVP on March 1 before the server locked) suggests incompatibility. Please restore Real Talk as an available mode alongside agentic task features.
