How can I tell if 365 is installed?

I can access Word and Excel, but I don't know what versions they are and I never received a product code.

Open Word or Excel and check the product information from within the app.

On Windows:

1. Open Word or Excel.
2. Select File > Account (or File > Help in some older versions).
3. Under Product Information, look at:
   • The product name (for example, “Microsoft 365 Personal”, “Microsoft 365 Apps for business”, or “Office Home & Student 2021”).
   • The version number and installation type if shown.
4. To see more details (including bitness), choose About Word or About Excel on that same page.

If the product name includes “Microsoft 365” (for example, Microsoft 365 Personal, Microsoft 365 Family, Microsoft 365 Apps for business), then a Microsoft 365 subscription is installed and activated on that device.

Regarding the product code (product key):

• For Microsoft 365 subscriptions and most recent one-time purchases, a product key is usually not needed after initial setup because activation is tied to a Microsoft account instead.
• The product key is not shown online for most Microsoft 365/Office products. Instead, sign in with the Microsoft account used to buy or activate the subscription at the Microsoft account, Services & subscriptions page to see what subscription or one-time purchase is associated with the account.

If an Office app prompts for activation, sign in with the same Microsoft account used to purchase or subscribe rather than entering a product key.
