Turn off grammar check in Outlook for Mac

Back in August there was a thread on how to turn off grammar checking in Outlook for Mark. MS makes not-so-helpful grammar suggestions, a feature I've turned off for probably about 20 years, since it first came out. There were several suggestions on how to turn it off, none of which worked.

Has Microsoft made any progress on this? It doesn't look any better.

Grammar checking can be turned off in Outlook for Mac using the Spelling and Grammar preferences. Outlook does not expose a separate, more advanced “Editor” configuration on Mac like on Windows, so the available control is the “Check grammar as you type” option.

To turn off grammar checking in Outlook for Mac:

1. Open Outlook for Mac.
2. On the Outlook menu, select Preferences.
3. Under Personal Settings, select Spelling and Grammar.
4. Clear the Check grammar as you type checkbox.
5. Optionally also clear Check spelling as you type if spelling underlines are not wanted.

When this option is cleared, Outlook stops marking grammar issues with dashed underlines as described in the Office proofing documentation. There is no additional setting in the provided documentation indicating a different or more granular way to disable grammar suggestions beyond this checkbox, and no further changes or new controls are documented for Outlook for Mac grammar checking.
