Current update of Microsoft Designer really gets me on my nerve

I don't know whether this happens to all Mc Designer users or not, but I'm experiencing some bugs. For example, when I try to add text, the text can't be replaced even though I've highlighted it. When I press backspace, instead of deleting the letters I want, it removes the entire text field! I also can't remove the default text ‘Click to add text.’

Hi, wow. By chance I found your post because this was driving me crazy too. I have found a temporary solution that worked for me - click all the way to the right side of 'Click to add text' - type whatever you need to type - be exact about it - because you know... pressing backspace or delete removes what you're doing at this point (makes you want to rip your hair out), once satisfied with your text entry, using your mouse, highlight the annoying 'Click to add text', now DON'T PRESS BACKSPACE OR DELETE REMEMBER! What you want to do is now press CTRL + X on your keyboard to initiate a cut of that wonderful text. And yeah... wow. I had to do allllll that... just to edit a simple pic.

I have the same question. I cant edit text. it deletes the entire text box if i press backspace and when i use cursor keys to move the cursor into position to add or remove text it moves the entire text box. Ive tried numerous things, nothing has worked so far. Seems to be a bug.

I am literally about to trade in my 1 yr old computer for a MAC to get away from the insanity and mouse rage of microsoft. ALL I WANT IS TO FREAKING EDIT A TEXT BOX! can't back space? seriously? OMFG get me out of this hell loop. I do realize I sound like a tantruming child...... but this is the truth of what it has done to me. I am going to try Czaleo's trick above... while reseraching how to get away from MS for good.

Ran into this just now. Glad I found this post cause it is driving me nuts. I appreciate Czaleo response, but I need to use Enter for a second line of text (this worked fine recently), but Enter does absolutely nothing.

Hey ya'll I just did an update through "check for updates" with morning. While it was for the virus defender update, my designer text issue seems to be working. Give that a shot.
