Take note with facilitator not showing language selection menu.

Question

Im using feature Take note with facilitator on my Iphone and it does not show language selection menu when start.

That means i can't change the transcript of the recap.

=> What i want is change the transcript to different language other than the default English.

On iPhone, Take notes with Facilitator does not display a separate language‑selection dialog. Facilitator uses the meeting’s transcription and caption language, which is configured through Meeting options and the in‑meeting Captions/Transcript controls. There is no dedicated Facilitator language setting on iOS.

As a result, Notes are generated based on the language applied when you select Confirm (auto‑detect).

However, you can still obtain transcripts in a different language by using the Multilingual Speech Recognition feature in Microsoft Teams, provided the following conditions are met:

• User must have Teams Premium or Microsoft 365 Copilot add-on along with a Teams licenses.  
• Before the meeting, Organizer must enable “Enable multilingual speech recognition” in Meeting options > Recording and transcription 
• Supported clients: 
  • Organizer must configure it from Teams for Windows, Mac, or Web. 
  • Participants can use it on Windows, Mac, Web, iOS, and Android once enabled. 
• Not supported in Teams Town Halls. 
• After it’s enabled, each participant can choose their own language. The supported languages are English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.

On mobile, “Take notes with Facilitator” uses the meeting’s spoken language setting and Facilitator’s own language support; there is no separate in-app language picker for the recap transcript beyond what the feature exposes.

From the documented behavior and limitations:

• Facilitator only supports the languages listed in Supported languages for Microsoft Copilot.
• When Facilitator is turned on in a meeting, the organizer or presenter is prompted to select the language participants are speaking. Notes are generated only if that selected language matches the spoken language, and only for a single language per meeting.
• If multiple languages are spoken, notes are only taken for the portions spoken in the selected meeting language.

Implications for the scenario:

1. If the language selection dialog does not appear on iOS when starting “Take notes with Facilitator,” the meeting will use the existing spoken language setting (typically English) and the recap transcript cannot be switched to another language afterward.
2. To have the recap in a different language, a meeting must be started with Facilitator where the spoken language is set to that target language when prompted. The language cannot be changed retroactively for an already-captured transcript.
3. Ensure that:
   • The Teams mobile app is updated to the latest version from the Apple App Store.
   • Facilitator is turned on for the meeting by an organizer or presenter (only licensed users can initiate Facilitator).
   • When the language prompt appears (on desktop/web or supported clients), the correct spoken language is selected before speaking.

If the prompt never appears on any client for new meetings, even though Facilitator is being turned on, this is a product limitation or issue not covered by the available guidance; in that case, the only supported path to get a different-language transcript is to start a new meeting where the correct spoken language can be selected when Facilitator is enabled.
