Good day,

I'm reaching out as since the start of 2026, I've had constant PC issues to include a variety of BSOD and games crashing constantly. The following is my Windows and Device specifications. BIOS for my motherboard (ASUS z790 gaming wifi7) is up-to-date, I've checked my Samsung SSD 990 and WD Blue SN580 HHDs for faults using both the command prompt command and via Properties Error Checking program with no negative result and used the INTEL Processor Diagnostic Tool with also no negative result. I did a fresh Windows 11 install via the installation media from Microsoft's website and the issues came back.

Hey. I've got a similar issue on my end, I can confirm that it isn't just linked to Intel. I'm on an AMD Ryzen 9060 XT (16GB)

The analysis points to intelppm.sys and GenuineIntel.sys, which are related to the Intel processor driver. I recommend updating your BIOS, chipset drivers, and processor drivers from your device manufacturer’s support website.

    Also try the steps below

Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box.

    Type regedit and click OK.

    Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\intelppm

In the right pane, double-click on the Start DWORD.

Change the Value data to 4, then click OK.

Restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

Frequent BSOD and game crashes after a Windows 11 update are typically caused by a faulty driver, problematic third‑party software (including overclocking/tuning tools), or a hardware/driver incompatibility exposed by the new build. The minidumps would need to be analyzed directly, but the supported next steps are:

    1. Apply basic Windows stop‑error troubleshooting Follow the standard sequence for repeated blue screens on Windows 11:
    1. Remove any recently added hardware
    • If any new device (USB, PCIe card, external drive, etc.) was added around the time problems started, shut down, disconnect/remove it, and test stability.
    1. Boot into Safe Mode and test
    • Start the PC in Safe Mode as described in Start your PC in safe mode in Windows 11.
    • In Safe Mode, use the system for a while (browsing, basic apps). If BSODs stop, that strongly points to a third‑party driver or software (GPU tools, RGB/OC utilities, antivirus, etc.).
    1. Check Device Manager for driver issues
    • Right‑click Start → Device Manager.
    • Look for any device with a yellow exclamation mark (!).
    • For each such device:
      • Right‑click → Update driver.
      • If that does not help, right‑click → Disable device and test, or Uninstall device and then reboot to let Windows reinstall a clean driver.
    1. Ensure enough free disk space
    • On the system drive, keep at least 10–15% free space so Windows can create page files, crash dumps, and perform maintenance. Low free space can contribute to instability.
    1. Install all current Windows Updates
    • Go to Start → Settings → Windows Update → Check for updates.
    • Install all available updates (including optional ones) and reboot as required.
    • This is important because some early 25H2/26200 builds may have had issues that are fixed in later cumulative updates.
    1. If instability started exactly after a specific update
    • If there is a clear correlation with one particular update and the system was stable before, use Recovery options to roll back:
      • Open Settings → System → Recovery.
      • Use “Go back” (if available) to return to the previous version, or use System Restore to revert to a restore point from before the issues.
      • See Recovery options in Windows 11 and choose the option that best matches the situation.
    1. Focus on drivers and gaming‑related software Given that games crash and BSODs occur under load or 3D usage, prioritize:
    • GPU driver
      • Completely remove the current graphics driver using the vendor’s clean‑install option.
      • Install the latest WHQL driver compatible with Windows 11 25H2.
    • Anti‑cheat and game overlays
      • Some anti‑cheat drivers are known to cause MEMORY_MANAGEMENT and similar BSODs on newer Windows builds. Microsoft has documented issues with Easy Anti‑Cheat on Windows 11 24H2 that caused blue screens on certain Intel platforms until updates were applied.
      • Ensure all games and their anti‑cheat components are fully updated.
      • Temporarily disable or uninstall third‑party overlays (Discord overlay, GPU overlays, performance monitors) and test.
    • OEM tuning/overclocking utilities
      • On gaming systems, vendor tools (for example, ASUS utilities that change CPU/GPU profiles) can destabilize the system after OS updates.
      • A similar case was resolved by performing an OEM cloud restore and uninstalling the ASUS tuning app; BSODs and freezes stopped afterward.
      • If any ASUS utilities (overclocking, fan control, RGB, “gaming” profiles) are installed, uninstall them and test stability on stock BIOS settings (no overclock, XMP/EXPO off as a test).
    1. Advanced steps if BSODs continue If the basic steps do not resolve the issue:
    • Use System Restore or in‑place repair
      • Use a restore point from before the problems started, if available.
      • If that is not possible or does not help, use the “Reset this PC” option with “Keep my files” from Settings → System → Recovery to reinstall Windows while preserving personal data. This often clears out problematic drivers and system files while keeping documents.
    • Clean reinstall as last resort
      • If crashes persist even after a reset/repair, back up data and perform a clean installation of Windows 11 25H2 from known‑good installation media, then install only:
        • Chipset drivers
        • GPU driver
        • Storage drivers (if needed)
      • Test stability before adding any additional utilities or overclocking.

If, after a clean OS and minimal drivers, BSODs still occur, the cause is likely hardware (RAM, motherboard, PSU, or GPU) even if quick diagnostics pass. In that case, proceed with extended memory tests and, if necessary, component substitution, but those steps go beyond what is covered in the provided documentation.
