Is Azure not accepting any Revolt cards? Mine is a physical card, not a virtual or pre-paid.

The same card works on AWS / GCP and pretty much everywhere else...

Azure does not accept Revolut cards for certain scenarios. For Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program membership payments, Revolut and prepaid cards are explicitly not valid and will trigger errors (for example, error code 2100037 for Revolut cards). The guidance is to use a standard credit or debit card issued by a recognized financial institution instead.

For general Azure subscription and billing payments, the documented restrictions focus on:

    • No virtual or prepaid cards for Azure sign-up or billing
    • Country/region and card-type limitations (for example, only credit cards in Hong Kong SAR and Brazil; only Visa/Mastercard debit/credit in India)

However, Revolut is specifically called out as unsupported for partner membership payments, and similar risk checks can cause Revolut cards to be rejected in other Azure payment flows even if they are physical Visa cards and work with other providers.

If the Revolut card continues to be declined, the supported path is to switch to a standard bank-issued credit or debit card that meets the regional rules documented for Azure payments.

Hello M, it’s not you Revolut cards often get treated like prepaid/virtual cards on Azure’s side, and those aren’t supported as a payment method. Here’s what to check and try:

    1. Azure only accepts “standard” credit or debit cards (Visa/Mastercard) that are enabled for international transactions.
    2. Prepaid or virtual cards (even physical ones issued by fintechs like Revolut) are commonly declined.
    3. Make sure your card details (name, billing address, CVV, expiry) exactly match what your bank has on file.
    4. Verify with Revolut that:
      • Your card is active and not blocked for international purchases.
      • It isn’t classified as a prepaid card on their side.
    5. If you need an alternative right now, you can:
      • Use another bank-issued Visa or Mastercard.
      • Switch your Azure subscription to invoice/wire payment (if you represent a business).

Hope that helps! If you’re still stuck, could you share a bit more?

    – Which country/region are you signing up from?

    – What exact decline or error message do you see in the portal?

    – Have you tried entering the card in an Incognito/InPrivate window?
