I am unable to access two of my work platforms: Link Connect and Slack. I can access my work email however. I also seem to have a problem connecting to the Cloud and my personal home email ******@aol.com

Work email access shows the device and account can reach at least some work resources, so focus on connectivity, account access policies, and each app individually.

    1. Check basic connectivity
    • Make sure the device is connected to the internet (Wi‑Fi or wired) and can browse other external sites.
    • If using a corporate VPN, try both with VPN connected and disconnected; some work apps require VPN, others may be blocked when VPN is off.
    1. Verify the work account on the device If using Windows and Microsoft 365 for work:
    2. Open Settings.
    3. Select Accounts.
    4. Select Access work or school.
    5. Confirm the work account is listed and shows as connected.
    6. If it is missing, select Connect, sign in with the work account, and complete the prompts.

If the work account is already listed and connected but access still fails, the organization may have applied additional restrictions and IT support will need to review them.

    1. Check for conditional access / compliance issues If the organization uses conditional access (for example, requiring a compliant or domain‑joined device), the device might be blocked from some apps but still allowed to use email.
    • If seeing messages like “You don’t have access to this app” or “Device is not compliant,” sign in to Windows with the work account, connect to the organization’s network (VPN if remote), lock the device with Windows logo key + L, then unlock with the work account and try again.
    • If the device is already joined and connected, contact the organization’s helpdesk; they may need to review compliance or conditional access policies.
    1. Troubleshoot the personal email and cloud access Because the personal AOL email and cloud access are also affected, there may be a broader network or firewall issue on the home network:
    • Restart the router/modem.
    • Temporarily disable any third‑party firewall or security software on the device (if allowed by local policy) and test again.
    • If using a corporate‑managed device, some outbound services may be restricted by policy; in that case, contact IT support.
    1. When to contact IT support If:
    • The work account appears correctly under Access work or school, and
    • Internet access works for other sites, but
    • Link Connect and Slack still fail or show access/permission/compliance errors,

then the issue is likely with organizational policies or app‑specific permissions. Use the company’s helpdesk or Company Portal contact details to open a ticket so IT can:

    • Confirm device compliance and conditional access status.
    • Check whether Link Connect and Slack are allowed for the account.
    • Verify there are no account‑specific blocks or security holds.
