Issue Removing Domain from Personal Account

A few people have reported this issue but I have yet to see a resolution. I moved my custom domain to a Microsoft business account. I updated the DNS and MX records on GoDaddy and my email is flowing fine to the new business account. Even though I removed the aliases from my Microsoft account and profile before transferring the domain, the domain is still associated with my personal account. I am unable to remove the domain and aliases. This is preventing me from using my Outlook App for both my personal and business accounts. Please provide a solution to resolve this issue.

Thank you for the detailed response. I have done everything you described a few times. The agent does not seem to be able to assist me. As an MS admin myself, if one has the access to backend system, this should be a simple fix. Go to my account, find all references to the custom domain, and remove the information. I assume the correct support team or tech, at the needed level, has not been engaged. I have seem others post here with the same issue. Not certain why MS can't just resolve the issue. Afterall, they created the issue when they removed the ability to add and manage custom domains on personal accounts. At this point, I am using the classic Outlook client to manage both my personal and business accounts. That will work until MS kills Outlook classic. Until then, I will keep trying with support and hope for a better result.

Dear @Mike Cusick, Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand that after moving your custom email domain from your personal Microsoft account to your Microsoft 365 business account, you’re still seeing that domain tied to your personal account. You mentioned that you removed the domain’s email aliases from your personal account and updated the DNS and MX records at GoDaddy. Email is flowing correctly to your business account now, but the domain lingering on your personal account is stopping you from using Outlook with both your personal and business accounts.

To better assistance, could you please confirm:

Are you still able to sign in to the Microsoft personal account that previously used this domain?

Have all email aliases using this domain been removed from the personal account?

Please go to https://account.live.com/names/Manage and check if the domain or any aliases using this domain are still listed on your Microsoft personal account.

Are you using the New Outlook for Windows, or have you also tried Classic Outlook?

Your detailed response will help us diagnose and investigate the issue more efficiently.

I truly appreciate your patience and understanding. If I misunderstood what you’re looking for, feel free to let me know or share a screenshot. I’d be happy to help further!

I'm looking forward for your reply. Thank you for your cooperation.
