Hi, I have MSI katana laptop with Nvidia RTX 3060 gpu and Gigabyte Aorus F048U 4k 120hz monitor. I have latest Windows 11 home 25H2 build. All graphics drivers and everything else are up to date. The problem I'm facing is that when I toggle HDR on the monitor, it wents black and windows partialy recognizes it. It gets the name, but no resolution, no response and overall no info. It just shows that I have some kind of 2nd monitor.

It helped to bring my monitor back by going to RegEdit: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers
and removing:
Configuration

Connectivity

ScaleFactors

MonitorDataStore

But the moment I toggle the HDR mode back on it just blacks out.

what could be the issue?
(I have a known working HDMI cable, that supports 4K,120hz HDR)

    Hi,

The problem might be a switching issue between the I-GPU and D-GPU. Access msinfo32.exe in the search bar, take a screenshot, and post it here.

Are you using an HDMI 2.1 cable?

We need to check if the I-GPU is maintaining the connection or the D-GPU if it has a Mux Switch.

    Thanks
