My personal Microsoft account was hacked. The person made purchases using my linked payment methods and changed the email address etc. on the account. I went through the account verification and recovery steps two and a half weeks ago, was given escalation case number is 7098361717. Since then I have not heard anything from Microsoft, I am completely locked out of the account and have no way of getting a hold of any kind of support. Even on here there is no option in the Tags for account support.

    Thank you for the information.

Since your account recovery was successful, please check your email inbox, junk, and spam folders for the password reset link.

If you didn't receive it, you will have to try submitting another request via Incognito/InPrivate window and using different devices and network services.

As for the dispute suggested by PayPal, you may reach out to Microsoft Billing Support for further assistance:

    https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact?SourceApp=smc2&ContactUsExperienceEntryPointAssetId=S.HP.SmcContactUsLanding

Type "Billing issue" > click "Get Help" > Scroll down to Sign in to Contact Support > Microsoft 365 and Office > Billing and Payment Updates > Confirm > Chat with a support agent in your web browser

    Best regards,

    Darhyl

Hey there! Nice to meet you!

I'm sorry you are experiencing this.

The only way to recover a hacked account is through the official Microsoft troubleshooter guide:

    https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/how-to-recover-a-hacked-or-compromised-microsoft-account-24ca907d-bcdf-a44b-4656-47f0cd89c245

If the account recovery web form doesn't work, and since the security info has been replaced by the hacker, I'm afraid there is no other working method to recover the Microsoft account, and Microsoft Support cannot help either.

Lastly, you'll need to contact your financial institution/bank directly to dispute the unauthorized charges, and they may process a refund, as this would be considered fraudulent charges.

You may also need to have your card blocked and request a new one.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Best regards,

    Darhyl
