I am being billed $10.98 monthly, but I paid a yearly fee of $102.99 on June 2, 2025. Why am I being billed the $10.98.

The monthly $10.98 charge is likely due to a separate subscription or a different billing frequency than the yearly $102.99 payment.

From the provided information, there are several common reasons for seeing additional or unexpected Microsoft 365 charges:

    1. A different billing frequency or subscription
      • Microsoft 365 subscriptions can be billed monthly, every three months, every six months, or annually, depending on what was selected at purchase.
      • It is possible to have one subscription billed annually (the $102.99 on June 2, 2025) and another billed monthly (the $10.98).
      • Each subscription or billing profile generates its own invoice.
    2. Multiple subscriptions or orders
      • If more than one order or subscription was created (for example, a separate Microsoft 365 or OneDrive plan), each one is billed separately.
      • Changes to existing subscriptions (adding licenses, upgrading, etc.) are billed on separate invoices and can appear as additional charges.
    3. Billing after cancellation timing
      • If a subscription was cancelled too close to the billing date (less than 2 days before), one more charge can still occur for the next billing period.

To identify exactly why the $10.98 is being billed and what subscription it belongs to:

    1. Go to the Microsoft account Services & subscriptions page: Subscriptions and check:
      • All active subscriptions.
      • Their billing frequency (monthly vs yearly).
      • The next charge date and amount.
    2. If the charge is not clear or appears incorrect, investigate the billing charge using the guidance in How to investigate a billing charge from Microsoft.
    3. If needed, request a refund or cancel the extra subscription using the steps in How to get a refund on a Microsoft subscription.
    4. If self-service steps do not resolve it, contact Microsoft Support for billing help via Contact Microsoft 365 Support.
