What you’re seeing is almost certainly a phishing attempt. Legitimate companies like Microsoft or PayPal do not send emails threatening immediate charges with a generic “noreply” address and a random phone number. The goal of this email is to trick you into calling the number or providing personal information.

Do not call the number, click any links, or reply to the email. Mark it as spam or phishing in your email client. You can also block the sender address microsoft-noreply@microsoft.com and set up a filter to automatically move messages with keywords like “Monitoring_Database1” or “PayPal” from unknown senders to spam.

In Outlook, to block the sender, right-click the email, go to Junk, and select Block Sender. This will prevent future emails from that address from appearing in your inbox.

If you want more control, you can create a rule. Go to Home, then Rules, then Manage Rules & Alerts. Click on New Rule, choose “Apply rule on messages I receive,” and set the condition to emails from microsoft-noreply@microsoft.com. Then set the action to move the message to the Junk folder or delete it. Save the rule, and Outlook will automatically handle future messages from that sender.

To confirm, log into your PayPal account directly by typing the URL into your browser and check your account activity. If you see no suspicious transactions, your account is likely safe. You can report the phishing email to PayPal by forwarding it to ******@paypal.com.
