    Hi,

There have been changes to the Rewards program starting this year. It appears that the number of points you can earn now depends on your level for the month. If you are on Gold level, your daily search limit is only 60 points instead of the previous 150. Many users are disappointed with these changes, but this is not something we can control on our end, as the Rewards program is subject to Microsoft’s policies and adjustments. You can visit the Rewards page through the provided links for more information.

The different point totals and missing PC search points are usually caused by how Microsoft Rewards limits and counts searches, plus some recent changes to earning rules.

    Use these checks and fixes:

    1. Confirm you are signed in with the same Microsoft account everywhere
      • Make sure the same Microsoft account is signed in on:
        • Bing (web and mobile)
        • Microsoft Edge (if using it)
        • The Microsoft Rewards dashboard (rewards.bing.com).
      • If signed in with a different account on any of these, points will not line up and some searches will not count.
    2. Check if you’ve hit the daily search earning limits
      • Microsoft Rewards has caps per day:
        • Level 1: up to 10 searches per day earn points.
        • Level 2: up to 30 searches per day earn points.
      • Once the daily search limit is reached, additional searches will not earn points, even if the dashboard still shows a higher “possible” total for the day.
    3. Understand that search earning can be temporarily limited
      • If search behavior looks like “farming” or automated activity, Microsoft can temporarily limit search earnings. Symptoms:
        • Bing shows fewer points available than the Rewards dashboard suggests.
        • Some or all searches stop earning points for a period.
      • To avoid or clear these limits:
        • Spread out searches over the day, not rapid back‑to‑back.
        • Do not spam random letters/numbers or click through articles rapidly just for points.
        • Do not use bots, macros, scripts, or automation.
      • These limits are not permanent and are removed once search patterns look normal again.
    4. Make sure you are not using VPNs or tools that hide your location
      • If the system thinks searches are coming from outside your registered market, points may not be credited and balances may look wrong.
      • Turn off VPNs, proxies, or IP-hiding tools when earning Rewards.
    5. Check Give Mode and balance display
      • If Give Mode is on, some points go directly to donations and the balance shown on the Rewards dashboard can differ from what you expect.
      • Turn off Give Mode if you want all points to go to your personal balance. See the Give with Bing FAQ from the documentation.
    6. Use Edge and mobile correctly for search points
      • To “get the most out of Microsoft Rewards,” ensure:
        • Bing is the default search engine in the browser used for earning.
        • Signed in with the Microsoft account in Edge and the Bing mobile app.
      • Earn on:
        • Bing searches (desktop and mobile)
        • Reading articles on MSN
        • Using the Bing mobile app and Edge
      • If PC search points seem gone or reduced, it may be due to updated earning rules or a temporary earning limit on that device.
    7. If the discrepancy persists for several days
      • If, after:
        • Using only one account,
        • Avoiding VPNs/automation,
        • Spreading searches out, the Bing counters still never match the Rewards dashboard or PC search never earns points, contact Rewards support so they can review the account directly:
      • Go to Microsoft Rewards support at https://rewards.bing.com/support (from the documentation) and submit a ticket.
