I purchased Windows 11 Pro last year and recently installed it on my PC and tried to authenticate it, but authentication keeps failing.

This is a public forum, I removed the product key from your screenshot to protect your privacy.

Before that, I checked the product key, there is no problem indicated, it is a full Windows Pro retail licence.

    1

Open the Settings App, then go to the activation settings section.

What edition (Home, Pro or Enterprise) is currently indicated as installed on your PC?

    2

If you try to enter your product key to activate Windows, what error is indicated, please provide a screenshot of the error.

Use the error code shown on the Activation page to determine why the Windows 11 Pro key fails, then follow the corresponding resolution.

    1. Open Start > Settings > System > Activation and check the exact activation error code.
    2. Compare it with the common errors and actions:
      • 0xC004C003 – The product key is not valid or has been used on multiple devices. Run the Activation Troubleshooter from Settings > System > Activation > Troubleshoot. If it still fails, contact the reseller or device manufacturer, or use a different key.
      • 0xC004F034 – The key is invalid or for a different Windows version/edition. Make sure Windows 11 Pro is installed and re‑enter the key that matches this edition.
      • 0x803F7001 or 0x800704CF – No valid license found. Go to Settings > System > Activation > Change product key, re‑enter the 25‑character key from the card, ensuring it’s typed exactly. If it still fails, a new license may be required.
      • 0xC004C008 / 0xC004C770 / 0x803FA071 – Key already used on another device or beyond its allowed activations. A separate product key is required for each device. If this is the same PC after major hardware change, run the Activation Troubleshooter and, if offered, use the reactivation path.
    3. If activation fails due to internet/proxy issues (for example, activation over a restricted network), run SLUI 04 from the search box to start phone activation and follow the wizard.
    4. If none of the above resolves the issue and the key was purchased as a genuine retail product, contact customer support as indicated in the activation error description.
