we have setup the apps using the collections and its not working as planned

There are multiple apps we have created of QA, Dev , Prod and stage and accordingly created the collections and shifted the apps accordingly but they are not showing as planned to users or to me in my apps

Hello Akash Ashok Myana,

You’ve configured the collections correctly, but please note that collections don’t grant access by themselves—they only group apps that users already have access to. If an app isn’t assigned to the user (or a group the user belongs to) under Enterprise applications → Users and groups, it won’t appear in My Apps, even if it’s added to a collection. Also ensure the app property “Visible to users” is set to Yes, and that users are assigned to the collection itself. After making changes, sign out and back in and check via https://myapps.microsoft.com.

Akash Ashok Myana Thanks for confirming. Even when collections are configured correctly, they do not control access or exclusive visibility. Collections only organize apps that a user already has access to. All assigned apps will always appear in the default “Apps” view, and collections only add additional tabs for grouping—they don’t move or hide apps from the main view.

Please also verify that:

Each app is assigned directly to the user or a group
Visible to users is set to Yes on the app
The user hasn’t hidden the collection/apps from their My Apps portal
You test using a fresh sign‑in or InPrivate session

This behavior is expected and by design as per Microsoft Entra ID My Apps collections.
