Hello Joe Everett, thanks for posting this in the community.

When Word does not open on a Mac after reinstalling Microsoft 365 and shows an error telling you to report it to Apple, it usually means the app did not activate correctly or some old Office files are causing a conflict. Please update your macOS first, then open any Office app and sign in with the Microsoft account that owns your subscription. If it still will not open, you can remove the Office license files by going to Finder, choosing Go, then Go to Folder, and entering ~/Library/Group Containers/ to delete the folders that start with UBF8T346G9. After that, restart your Mac and reinstall Microsoft 365 from https://www.microsoft365.com.

    Kind regards,

    John Oli
